Soccer Recap: Altoona Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After losing to Sparta the last time they met, Altoona decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Railroaders came out on top against the Spartans by a score of 3-1 on Monday.

Lucas Pederson and Tavian Gilbert-Rasso scored all three of Altoona's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 23 goals.

Altoona's victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 9-4-5. As for Sparta, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-10-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Altoona will head out to square off against St. Croix Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Croix Central's last five contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Sparta, they are taking a road trip to face off against La Crosse Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
