Basketball Game Preview: Odessa Bronchos vs. Permian Panthers

Odessa hasn't had much luck against Permian recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Odessa Bronchos will face off against the Permian Panthers at 7:30 p.m.

On Tuesday, Odessa had to suffer through a 90-33 loss at the hands of San Angelo Central. While losing is never fun, the Bronchos can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 585th, while the Bobcats are ranked 96th).

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Permian over Midland Legacy in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Permian took down Midland Legacy 45-27.

Permian has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Odessa, their loss dropped their record down to 13-17.

Odessa came up short against Permian in their previous matchup on January 9th, falling 58-50. Can Odessa avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
