Crestline hasn't had much luck against Colonel Crawford recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. Crestline will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Colonel Crawford at 11:00 a.m.
Crestline is headed into Saturday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their tenth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 14-3 to Rittman.
Crestline saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addisyn Lavene, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Colonel Crawford was able to grind out a solid win over Ridgedale on Wednesday, taking the game 6-1. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Aubrey Betts made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Betts was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Rylie Hoepf was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.
Crestline came up short against Colonel Crawford when the teams last played back in April of 2017, falling 17-12. Can Crestline avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
