Volleyball Recap: Shiloh Christian Falls Short Against Ranked Bentonville West

Shiloh Christian faced Bentonville West in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Saints lost 3-0 to the Wolverines. The Saints were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolverines apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-15, 25-20.

Caroline Stallbaumer paced Shiloh Christian's offense, picking up six kills. Stallbaumer got some help from Kennedy Brown and her 12 assists. Micah Unger controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Bentonville West's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laney Chilton led the charge by getting 15 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Chilton has posted over her last seven matches. Another player making a difference was Olivia Hamm, who had 16 assists and six digs.

This is the second loss in a row for Shiloh Christian and nudges their season record down to 17-12-1. As for Bentonville West, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Shiloh Christian has already played their next matchup (against Siloam Springs), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Bentonville West, they will head out to square off against Southside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
