Basketball Recap: Winamac Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

Winamac won the last time they faced Caston, and Jaybin Hines did his part to make sure it happened again. The Winamac Warriors came out on top against the Caston Comets by a score of 55-42 on Friday thanks in part to Hines, who went 8 of 16 en route to 22 points and five rebounds. Those 22 points gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Caston still got an impressive performance from Logan Mollenkopf, who went 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points and six boards. The match was Mollenkopf's third in a row with at least ten points. Reed Sommers was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Winamac's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Caston, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.

Winamac wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 50-48 loss against Delphi Community on the 25th. As for Caston, they will take on Rochester at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rochester is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.5 points per game this season.
