Preview: Hale Center Owls vs. Floydada Whirlwinds
Hale Center is 1-9 against Floydada since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hale Center Owls will be playing in front of their home fans against the Floydada Whirlwinds at 7:00 p.m. Hale Center will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Hale Center scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Lockney 87-48 at home. Hale Center has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 contests by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Floydada unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Olton by a score of 56-53. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Floydada has suffered since December 9, 2023.
Despite their loss, Floydada saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Tyrean Henderson, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Henderson is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Braun Hobbs, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Hale Center is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season. As for Floydada, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-8.
Hale Center didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Floydada in their previous matchup back in January, but they still walked away with a 65-60 win. Will Hale Center repeat their success, or does Floydada have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
