Basketball Recap: Atlantic Coast's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Atlantic Coast had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.7 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-55 victory over the First Coast Buccaneers. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Stingrays' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 109th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 509th).

Atlantic Coast was led to victory by Julian Melendez and Tarik Auguste. Melendez shot 61% from the field to rack up 26 points along with six assists and four steals, while Auguste went 11-for-14 on his way to 22 points and eight boards. Auguste is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 60% in the last four games he's played. Jaydon Judge was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

Atlantic Coast smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in five consecutive matchups.

Atlantic Coast's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for First Coast, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Atlantic Coast wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 45-37 victory against Mandarin on the 11th. As for First Coast, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 83-56 loss against University Christian on the 12th.
