Baseball Recap: Muhlenberg Starts Season with Win Against Boiling Springs

Muhlenberg had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 10-1 margin over the Boiling Springs Bubblers. The Muhls not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 15, 2024.

Aaden Lopez made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Lopez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

In other pitching news, Ethan Weiler looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Cooper Burr, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Marvin Frias Vargas, who scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Boiling Springs now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Muhlenberg will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Lancaster Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Boiling Springs, they will square off against Waynesboro at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. This will be Boiling Springs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
