Volleyball Recap: Westwood Starts off Right with Win over Palm Bay

Westwood gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They skirted past the Palm Bay Pirates 3-2. For the Panthers, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2015.

Defeat or not, Palm Bay got some senior leadership from Audrey Swartz and Alyssa Hansen. Swartz had four digs and three aces, while Hansen had four digs and two aces. Rhaeline Wamsley was another key player, getting 12 digs.

Coming up, Westwood will head out on the road to take on Sebastian River at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Palm Bay, they will take on Pineapple Cove Classical Academy West Melbourne at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
