Recap: Antelope Titans vs. Varsity Opponent
The Antelope Titans pushed their score all the way to 80 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Varsity Opponent by a score of 83-80. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Tuesday (61), Antelope still had to take the loss.
Antelope's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quentin Mitchell, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for Mitchell. Malichai Brown was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists.
Antelope now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Varsity Opponent, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 112-409-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Antelope won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Elk Grove at 4:00 p.m. on December 8th. Elk Grove is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Varsity Opponent, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Legacy Christian at 7:00 p.m.
