Soccer Game Preview: Elk City vs. Weatherford

Elk City hasn't had much luck against Weatherford recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Elks will be playing at home against the Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Elk City is headed into Thursday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They came up short against Heritage Hall, falling 9-3. While losing is never fun, Elk City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 98th, while Heritage Hall are ranked tenth).

Meanwhile, Weatherford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 5-0 to Heritage Hall.

Weatherford's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Elk City, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

Elk City might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Weatherford when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Can the Elks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
