Football Game Preview: Columbia Falls Wildcats vs. Ronan Chiefs + How To Watch

Columbia Falls has gone a perfect 8-0 against Ronan recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Wildcats will take on the Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. Ronan took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Columbia Falls, who comes in off a win.

Columbia Falls is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Montana's top teams: Bigfork, who was ranked 15th at the time (Columbia Falls was ranked 13th). The Wildcats took down the Vikings & Valkyries 27-13 on Friday. The Wildcats' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Columbia Falls got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Banyan Johnston out in front who threw for 288 yards and three TDs. That's the most passing yards Johnston has posted since back in September of 2024. A healthy portion of Johnston's aerial production (116 yards to be exact) went to Jory Hill, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Columbia Falls' defense stepped up as well, laying out Cole Schmit three times. In that department, Daniel Contreras was the leader with two sacks.

Meanwhile, Ronan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss dating back to last season. They were beaten by Whitefish 65-0.

Columbia Falls' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Ronan, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-5.

Everything came up roses for Columbia Falls against Ronan in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 45-8 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
