Basketball Recap: West Plains Beats Hillcrest for Their Sixth Straight Win

West Plains had won five straight games and Shaylee Peterson did her part to make it six on Monday. The West Plains Zizzers came out on top against the Hillcrest Hornets by a score of 58-51 for which the team can thank Peterson, who to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds. Her big performance that evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Zoe Scharnhorst was another key player, putting up three points along with seven boards and three steals. That's the most rebounds she has posted since back in December of 2024.

West Plains pushed their record up to 18-8 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Hillcrest, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 17-7.

West Plains does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hillcrest, they will head out to challenge McDonald County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
