Neuse Charter was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Duplin Rebels. One positive for the Cougars, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Brayden Parr made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Nate Buck, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Neuse Charter's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for North Duplin, their record is now 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Neuse Charter Cougars face off against Hobbton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hobbton's pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so Neuse Charter's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for North Duplin, they will be playing at home against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
