Softball Recap: Ovid-Elsie Comes Up Short

Ovid-Elsie's last matchup with Birch Run could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Monday. The Marauders lost 16-1 to the Panthers. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Marauders couldn't push the score so high this time.

Ovid-Elsie saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haley McClung, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that McClung has hit this season.

Ovid-Elsie has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Birch Run, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Looking ahead, Ovid-Elsie will head out on the road to square off against Breckenridge at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Birch Run, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Vassar at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
