Preview: Hiram Hornets vs. Pace Academy Knights
The Hiram Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Pace Academy Knights at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hiram comes in on three and Pace Academy on four.
Hiram posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 71-48 margin over Woodland. Given Hiram's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Woodland is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, even though Riverwood scored an imposing 60 points on Saturday, Pace Academy still came out on top. Pace Academy pulled ahead with a 61-60 photo finish over Riverwood.
Lamar Moore continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. The team also got some help courtesy of MJ Madison, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Hiram is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Pace Academy, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2.
