Baseball Recap: Fort Lee Extends Road Winning Streak to Five

Fort Lee entered their tilt with Ridgefield Memorial on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Royals get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. That's more bragging rights for the Bridgemen, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Gabriel Garcia tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Jack Dorkhom was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Luke Senatore also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Fort Lee's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-3. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Ridgefield Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-3.

Coming up, Fort Lee will be taking part in a tournament against New Milford at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ridgefield Memorial, they will head out on the road to face off against Fair Lawn at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
