Football Recap: Pickerington Central Skates Past Lancaster with Ease

Pickerington Central had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past the Lancaster Golden Gales 63-27. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Tigers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 15th, while the Golden Gales are ranked 269th).

Rocco Williams was his usual excellent self, throwing for 340 yards and seven TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes. Rj Parker was in the mix too, providing Pickerington Central with two touchdowns.

Pickerington Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 242 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 204 rushing yards in three consecutive matchups.

When it comes to explaining why Lancaster lost, don't look at Jahmeir Gordon. Despite the final result, he rushed for 143 yards and one score while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also picked up 30 receiving yards.

Pickerington Central's record is now 5-1. As for Lancaster, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

The two teams might be coming in a bit winded given these two teams combined for 1,081 yards in their previous games. Meanwhile, Lancaster is set to square off against their familiar foe Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
