Softball Recap: Ramsay Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Ramsay's offense. They came up short against the Sipsey Valley Bears on Saturday, falling 11-0. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Rams' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Ramsay saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Timberly Payton, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Payton is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stole at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Ramsay's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Sipsey Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-4 record this season.

Ramsay will square off against Robertsdale at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Ramsay has given up an average of 13 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week. As for Sipsey Valley, they will face off against Tuscaloosa County at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
