Softball Recap: Sinton Comes Up Short

If Sinton was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Odem on Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Sinton fell just short of Rockport-Fulton by a score of 9-7 on Tuesday. Sinton's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Natalie Tijerina was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayda Castro, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

Sinton's loss dropped their record down to 13-12. As for Rockport-Fulton, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sinton will face off against Devine at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warhorses / Arabians' pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Rockport-Fulton, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Calhoun at 7:00 p.m.
