Football Recap: Geneva Skates Past Waterloo with Ease

Geneva never let their opponents score on Friday. They claimed a resounding 57-0 victory over the Waterloo Tigers. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won six in a row.

Travis Tolbert Jr. had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 83 yards and one TD. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Khy Shorter also helped with two touchdowns in total.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Geneva was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 259 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in September of 2024.

Geneva's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Brayden Polce and Amari Jamison Kennedy, who racked up four sacks between them. Shorter got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Geneva's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Waterloo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Looking ahead, Geneva will head out to challenge Palmyra-Macedon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Red Raiders have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Waterloo, they will take on Midlakes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
