The Port St. Joe Tiger Sharks will venture away from home to face off against the Blountstown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Port St. Joe is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
Port St. Joe was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Edgewood Academy 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tiger Sharks have posted since February 11th.
Jacob Hensley tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, Corban Butts was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-2. Port St. Joe is undefeated when Butts posts two or more runs, but 6-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Reese, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Port St. Joe hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Blountstown had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Destin on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 25, 2024.
The team relied heavily on Isaac Roberts, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Ja'Corey Williams was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Port St. Joe now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Blountstown, their record is now 4-14.
Port St. Joe took their victory against Blountstown when the teams last played back in February by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Port St. Joe since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
