Basketball Recap: James Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Tennyson over Encinal

Tennyson managed to keep up with Encinal until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Tennyson Lancers came up short against the Encinal Jets, falling 80-60. The Lancers just can't catch a break and have now endured eight defeats in a row.

Several Lancers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was James Walker, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 18 rebounds. Walker is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last 20 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Louis Gonzalez III, who went 7-for-13 to rack up 17 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, Tennyson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive games.

Tennyson's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Encinal, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.

As of now, neither Tennyson nor Encinal have any future games scheduled.
