Watertown barely beat Monona Grove the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Goslings blew past the Silver Eagles 7-1 on Monday. The Goslings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Allison Howlett made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out six batters over  seven innings while giving up just one earned run off   two  hits. Those  six  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-4 with one  home run and three  RBI. She also put up a  run, which was her first of the season.
 In other batting news,  Cassidy Peplinski was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double.  Makenah Novotny was another key player,  going 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Watertown  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monona Grove only managed two  hits.
Watertown pushed their record up to 10-4 with the  victory, which was their third straight  on the road. The  road  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Monona Grove,  they are  on  a  seven-game losing streak  that has dropped them down to 5-11.
 We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Watertown is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Waunakee  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Monona Grove will  square off against  rival Fort Atkinson  at 5:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
