Basketball Recap: Haywood Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Haywood Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 43-36 to The Master's Academy Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Wolves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-35 back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, Haywood Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Cherish Carson, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Lexi Mendez, who scored eight points.

Haywood Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for The Master's Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Haywood Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 51-46 victory against Lake Lure Classical Academy on the 31st. As for The Master's Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-39 win against Temple Baptist on the 31st.
