Volleyball Recap: Shadow Ridge Takes Down Ranked Centennial

Shadow Ridge faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Mustangs walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Bulldogs two weeks ago, they had to take a 3-1 loss.

Shadow Ridge was led to victory by Jayden Villiatora and Camden Finlinson. Villiatora had five digs and four aces, while Finlinson had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Finlinson a new career-high.

The win (which was Shadow Ridge's third in a row) raised their record to 19-11. As for Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 18-11 record this season.

Shadow Ridge didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Foothill on the 20th. As for Centennial, they will square off against Moapa Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
