Softball Recap: Cypress Bay Comes Up Short

Cypress Bay lost against Western back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cypress Bay Lightning fell 4-1 to the Western Wildcats. The Lightning have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cypress Bay saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Allena Dinneen, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. That RBI was Dinneen's first of the season.

Cypress Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Western, the victory was the tenth in a row (dating back to last season) for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.

Coming up, Cypress Bay will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against American Heritage at 6:00 p.m. American Heritage's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Cypress Bay's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Western, they will venture away from home to square off against Fort Lauderdale at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
