Baseball Game Preview: Pacific Grove Breakers vs. North Monterey County Condors

The Pacific Grove Breakers will face off against the North Monterey County Condors at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Pacific Grove didn't have quite enough to beat St. Francis and fell 3-2. The Breakers haven't had much luck with the Sharks recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

River Lyon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Meanwhile, North Monterey County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Trojans.

Tyler Baldwin was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Greg Jimenez was excellent, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

North Monterey County's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pacific Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 8-14.
