Basketball Recap: Anzar Takes a Loss

Anzar lost against Kirby Prep back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Anzar Hawks came up short against the Kirby Prep Griffins, falling 63-43. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kirby Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chris Lively, who posted 19 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Rain Li, who earned 15 points and eight rebounds.

Anzar's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Kirby Prep, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-9.

Anzar will venture away from home to take on Ceiba College Preparatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Anzar is facing Ceiba College Preparatory Academy at the right time seeing as Ceiba College Preparatory Academy is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Kirby Prep has already played their next contest (against Monterey Bay Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
