Bayport-Blue Point had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 5-1 win over the Southampton Mariners on Friday. The victory continues a trend for the Phantoms in their matchups with the Mariners: they've now won nine in a row.

Cooper Fuller was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Tyler McKillop, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Southampton now has a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Bayport-Blue Point will head out to square off against Pierson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Southampton, they will take on Port Jefferson at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
