Baseball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Salem was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 13th straight loss. They lost 16-1 to the First Colonial Patriots. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-0 back in March.

Salem saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lucas Tomasello, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 3-17. As for First Colonial, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Salem will venture away from home to face off against Green Run at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Stallions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.7 runs per game on average), something the Sundevils will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for First Colonial, they will head out on the road to square off against Bayside at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
