Recap: Picayune Maroon Tide vs. Lake Hornets
The Picayune Maroon Tide had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They secured a 43-39 W over Lake on Saturday.
Leading Picayune to victory were Rhyen Goss and Carleigh Guillotte. Goss scored ten points, while Guillotte scored five points along with 18 rebounds. Those 18 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Adkins, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Picayune's victory bumped their record up to 7-9. As for Lake, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.
Picayune will be home for the holidays to greet Forrest County Agricultural at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Lake's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southeast Lauderdale at 6:00 p.m. on December 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Mississippi (Southeast Lauderdale is ranked 193rd, while Lake is ranked 186th).
