Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Community School of Davidson walked away with it. They breezed past the Swain County Maroon Devils to the tune of 65-13 on Friday. The Spartans' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Community School of Davidson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ty Sigler, who threw for 198 yards and five touchdowns on only 17 passes, and also punched in one TD on the ground. What's more, Sigler racked up 17 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in September. Another rusher making a difference was Nixon Willis, who rushed for 139 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Community School of Davidson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Cade Rasmussen, Caleb Bosemiller, and Wyatt Baker picked up one apiece. Rasmussen got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The win was the third in a row for Community School of Davidson, bringing their record up to 7-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games. As for Swain County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-5.

Looking ahead, Community School of Davidson will venture away from home to challenge Murphy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Spartans 14.8, the Bulldogs 11.5) so any points scored will be well earned. Swain County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
