Softball Recap: Nimitz Comes Up Short

Nimitz extended their losing streak to four on Thursday, dropping them down to 11-8. They lost 28-11 to the Berkner Rams. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-8 on Tuesday.

As for Berkner, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-12. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by nine runs or more this season.

For Berkner's part, Kinley Akeman was incredible, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, seven RBI, and four runs. That's the most runs Akeman has posted since back in March of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Jasmyne Bell, who went 4-for-5 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Nimitz is set to challenge their familiar foe Pearce at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Berkner will face off against rival Irving at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
