Softball Recap: East Valley Beats Grandview for Their Third Straight Win

East Valley had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Grandview Greyhounds as they made off with a 13-2 win. The Red Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Greyhounds, too.

The team relied heavily on Sophiya Castaneda, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kendall Palmateer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: East Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in 16 consecutive matchups.

East Valley's record now sits at 16-5. As for Grandview, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11-2 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: East Valley beat Grandview by a score of 16-4 later that day.
