Baseball Recap: Chickasha Takes Down Ranked Heritage Hall

Chickasha faced Heritage Hall in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Fighting Chicks walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Chargers. The Fighting Chicks have beaten the Chargers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Chargers has come to flipping the script.

Brody Ross was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 11 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI.

In other batting news, Tyson Owens was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Lane Johnson was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

Chickasha's win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Heritage Hall, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Chickasha will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Chargers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
