Volleyball Recap: Alpaugh Triumphs

Alpaugh won the last time they faced Laton, and Aydette Ontiveros did her part to make sure it happened again. The Buffalos blew past the Mustangs 3-0 on Wednesday with plenty of help from Ontiveros, who had 14 digs and two aces. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

While Alpaugh won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-15, 25-23.

Alpaugh's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Laton, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

Looking ahead, Alpaugh will be playing in front of their home fans against Riverdale at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Laton, they have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Tranquillity on the 11th.
