Baseball Recap: Cooper Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Cooper never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They blew past the Bland Tigers 15-0. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaret Slakey made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 16 over six innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Devin Dial was a standout: he scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tyler Moses, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Cooper always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .526. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bland only posted an OBP of .000.

The win was the fourth in a row for Cooper, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.8 runs. As for Bland, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Cooper and Wolfe City will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th. Cooper is facing Wolfe City at the right time seeing as Wolfe City is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Bland, they will face off against Campbell at 4:30 p.m. on March 18th.
