Volleyball Recap: Faith Lutheran Falls Short Against Ranked Skutt Catholic

Faith Lutheran is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Skutt Catholic. The Crusaders took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the SkyHawks.

Faith Lutheran's offense was headlined by Abby Bunyan and Parker LaFontaine, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from K Sawyer and her nine assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Skutt Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Marin Brummund, who had eight digs and four aces. That's the most aces Brummund has posted since back in October of 2024. Mia Stevens was another key player, getting 15 assists and three digs.

Faith Lutheran has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season. As for Skutt Catholic, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Faith Lutheran wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against South Pasadena on the 19th. As for Skutt Catholic, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Cathedral Catholic on the 19th.
