Festus had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the six-run drubbing they dealt Perryville on Wednesday. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Pirates. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Pirates: they've now won eight in a row.

Jackson Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up five earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Smith was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Festus let Brady Nolen and Brayden Good run wild. Nolen scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Good scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Nolen also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season. Brayden Beers was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Festus' win bumped their record up to 6-3-1. As for Perryville, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
