Volleyball Recap: Bishop O'connell Takes Down St. Catherine's in a Playoff Battle

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bishop O'Connell had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the St. Catherine's Saints. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 17-25, 25-17.

Macie Murray paced Bishop O'Connell's offense, picking up 26 kills. Murray got some help from Natalie Hobson and her 37 assists. Murray was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Despite the loss, St. Catherine's still got an impressive performance from Bailey Loving, who had 19 digs and four assists.

Bishop O'Connell's victory bumped their record up to 22-2. As for St. Catherine's, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.

Bishop O'Connell will be playing in front of their home fans against Flint Hill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. St. Catherine's does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
