Softball Game Preview: Belle Vernon Leopards vs. Uniontown Red Raiders

The Belle Vernon Leopards will venture away from home to face off against the Uniontown Red Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Belle Vernon is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering West Mifflin just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 9-4 to the Titans.

Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Uniontown's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Elizabeth Forward by a score of 4-2.

Uniontown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmaleigh Noah, who went 2-for-3 with one home run.

Belle Vernon's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Uniontown, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Belle Vernon couldn't quite finish off Uniontown in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 8-6. Can the Leopards avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
