Football Game Preview: Priory Panthers vs. Stuart Hall Knights

Priory is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Saturday. They will face off against the Stuart Hall Knights at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Back in September, Priory humbled California School for the Deaf with a 67-30 victory. The Panthers pushed the score to 61-22 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Priory relied on the efforts of William Guo, who gained 106 total yards and four touchdowns, and Michael Hildebrandt, who threw for 164 yards and four touchdowns on only 14 passes. Those four passing touchdowns gave Hildebrandt a new career-high. Simon Soltes was in the mix as well, providing Priory with one TD.

Meanwhile, Stuart Hall strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Their defense stepped up to hand Ygnacio Valley a 63-0 shutout. The Knights' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a point in their last four matchups.

Stuart Hall's win bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Priory, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.

Priory was taken down by Stuart Hall 60-12 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Panthers, Rhett Sypult (who threw for 349 yards and six touchdowns, and also rushed for 155 yards and one score on only 12 carries) won't be suiting up this time.
