Baseball Recap: Laurel Starts Season with Loss on the Road

Laurel had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against the Bowie Bulldogs on Friday, falling 19-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Spartans have suffered since April 6, 2024.

Laurel saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was CJ DeTurris, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Bowie pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Laurel didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 12-11 loss against Parkdale on the 22nd. As for Bowie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 16-2 win against Flowers on the 22nd.
