Softball Recap: Mt. Carmel Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mt. Carmel, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They never let the Olympian Eagles get on the board and left with a 4-0 win on Monday. This was payback for the Sundevils, who suffered a 4-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Mt. Carmel's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Naya Leuck, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Leuck a new career-high in doubles (two).

Mt. Carmel's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Olympian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mt. Carmel will square off against Escondido at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Olympian, they will take on Mater Dei Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
