Football Game Preview: Homer-Center Wildcats vs. West Shamokin Wolves + How To Watch

The Homer-Center Wildcats are taking a road trip to challenge the West Shamokin Wolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Shamokin took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Homer-Center, who comes in off a win.

Homer-Center's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 47-0 win over Conemaugh Valley. That 47 point margin sets a new team best for the Wildcats this season.

Homer-Center's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Carson Arone, who rushed for 178 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries, and Gabe Cobaugh, who rushed for 96 yards and a pair of scores on only eight carries. Those three rushing touchdowns gave Arone a new career-high. Codey Bell got in on the action as well, converting a pick into a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Homer-Center was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 324 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Homer-Center didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Brady Frazer led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Bell got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, West Shamokin played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] 35-7. While losing is never fun, the Wolves can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 480th, while United Valley co-op [Blacklick Valley/United] are ranked 195th).

Homer-Center pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 33.8 points over those games. As for West Shamokin, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.

Everything went Homer-Center's way against West Shamokin in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Homer-Center made off with a 42-21 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
