Softball Game Preview: Hillsboro Spartans vs. Southridge Skyhawks

The Hillsboro Spartans will take on the Southridge Skyhawks at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Hillsboro fell victim to Mountainside and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Mavericks. The loss put an end to the Spartans' undefeated start to the season.

Meanwhile, Southridge got themselves on the board against McDaniel on Tuesday, but McDaniel never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Mountain Lions. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Skyhawks this season.

Southridge has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Hillsboro fell to 2-1.
