Baseball Recap: Fowlerville Takes a Loss

After flying high against Holt on Thursday, Fowlerville came back down to earth. The Gladiators fell just short of the Owosso Trojans by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. The Gladiators were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in June of 2016.

Dylan Soli made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two runs and one double. Fowlerville is 3-1 when Soli posts two or more runs, but 6-18 otherwise.

Fowlerville has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-19 record this season. As for Owosso, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-11.

Fowlerville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Owosso, they are on the road again on Saturday to play Williamston at 3:00 p.m. The Hornets' pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
