Preview: Rio Grande vs. Manzano
Rio Grande had trouble last Thursday, and unfortunately for them, their opponent this week is a big step up in difficulty. They will be defending their home turf for the first time on Friday when they go up against Manzano at 7:00 PM. The MaxPreps rankings say the odds are against Rio Grande, but that can only make success all the sweeter.
Rio Grande had to kick off their season with an away game, and unfortunately wound up with a long bus ride home. Rio Grande weren't too far behind, but the team still lost 12-16 to Highland.
Meanwhile, Manzano faced Las Cruces in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Manzano were completely outmatched, falling 13-48 to Las Cruces.
