Volleyball Game Preview: Highland Park Giants vs. Maine East Blue Demons

The Highland Park Giants will take on the Maine East Blue Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Highland Park came up short against Maine West and fell 2-0.

While Highland Park ultimately came up short, they really made Maine West work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 26-24.

Meanwhile, Maine East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 2-0 to Niles West.

Maine East was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-23.

Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Maine East, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Highland Park beat Maine East 2-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Giants repeat their success, or do the Blue Demons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
